Where your water goes matters. Poorly placed or damaged downspouts send thousands of gallons of water directly against your foundation every rainy season. We install, reroute, repair, and extend downspouts — including underground drainage solutions.
Your gutters can be in perfect condition but if your downspouts dump water right at the foundation, you still have a problem. Water pooling against a foundation over months and years leads to cracks, settling, basement moisture, and soil erosion. The good news: downspout problems are usually the easiest water issue to fix. We can reroute, extend, or bury downspouts to send water safely away from your home.
We do this type of work every week. From simple splash block additions to full underground PVC drainage systems with pop-up emitters, we'll design the right solution for your property and soil conditions.
The number, size, and placement of downspouts is the most overlooked part of a gutter system. Most homes we look at are under-drained — meaning gutters that should have three downspouts have two, or downspouts sized for a smaller roof.
Industry standard is one downspout per 20-30 linear feet of gutter. Large rooflines, steep pitches, and homes in heavy-rain areas need more downspouts or larger-diameter ones. We calculate the actual drainage capacity needed for your roof and make sure the system can handle the peak rainfall events we get in November through March.
We install 2x3 and 3x4 rectangular downspouts, round downspouts for traditional or copper systems, and in certain commercial or high-volume residential applications, even larger sizes.
The cleanest, most effective way to get water away from your foundation is to route downspouts underground through PVC pipe. We trench about 12-18 inches deep, lay schedule 40 PVC with the correct fall, and terminate at either a pop-up emitter, a dry well, or a connection to the storm drain (where code allows).
Pop-up emitters — a spring-loaded cap that stays flush with your lawn until water pressure pushes it open. Water discharges 8-10+ feet from the foundation, then the cap closes again. Clean, invisible, effective.
Dry wells — for properties where surface discharge isn't practical, we can install a buried perforated chamber filled with gravel. Water soaks into the soil gradually instead of pooling.
Storm drain connection — where municipal code allows and where a connection is available, we can tie your downspout into the public storm system. We check local requirements first.

PVC extensions with pop-up emitters, dry wells, and storm drain connections. The best long-term drainage solutions.
We calculate actual drainage capacity for your roof — not just slap on whatever the previous owner had.
Downspouts can be tucked along corners, under siding, or buried. Your home doesn't have to look cluttered.
Most downspout repairs scheduled within the week. Disconnected downspouts especially are urgent.

Industry standard is one downspout per 20-30 linear feet of gutter. Steep roof pitches, large surface areas, and heavy-rain zones may require more or larger downspouts. We assess your actual drainage needs on-site.
Yes — we can route downspouts along corners, under siding, or through underground pipes to emerge far from the foundation. The goal is effective drainage that also looks clean.
It can be. A disconnected downspout dumps water right at your foundation. If it's recent and you haven't had a heavy rain yet, it's a same-week fix. If it's been that way for a while, we'll check for foundation damage during the repair.
We extend your downspout underground (via PVC pipe) to discharge water 8-10+ feet away from your foundation — either into a dry well, to a pop-up emitter in the lawn, or into a storm drain where code allows. It's the cleanest, most effective solution.
Yes. Simple splash blocks are included when needed as a basic solution. For more serious drainage situations, underground solutions work better — and we can quote both options so you can choose.
